Dallas-based scheduled charter airline JSX, formally JetSuiteX, announced the addition of a new route from Seattle’s Boeing Field to Portland, Ore. beginning April 2, 2020.
The new route will operate up to five times daily in each direction and will complement its current existing service to Oakland, Calif. In addition to this being a new route from Boeing Field, it will also mark the entrance of the airline into the Oregon market.
The airline has added several new cities over the past year as it acquires additional aircraft including Seattle and Phoenix in July and August 2019 respectively.
The airline also hopes to continue expanding this year as it plans on acquiring up to 20 new aircraft before the year’s end which will include the Embraer E135 and E145.
The addition of these services means that it will operate up to eight daily flights out of King County International, which it didn’t operate any flights to one year ago.
The Boeing Field to Portland, Ore. route has been unserved since SeaPort Airlines ceased operations in fall 2016.
Although no airline offered jet service to the airport before July 2019, the airport didn’t lack scheduled service as Kenmore Air Express has been serving the airport with flights to the San Juan Islands and Mount Rainier tours since 2004.
Joey has always been interested in planes for as long as he can remember. He grew up in Central New York during the early 2000s when US Airways Express turboprops ruled the skies. Being from a non-aviation family made it harder for him to be around planes and would only spend about three hours a month at the airport. He was so excited when he could drive by himself, the first thing he did with his driver's license was get ice cream and go plane spotting for the entire day. He graduated from Western Michigan University in 2022 with a B.S. in Aviation Management & Operations and a Minor in Business, and currently works for a major airline in his hometown.
