Smyrna, Tenn.-based airline Contour Airlines, just announced the addition of three new routes from Indianapolis. The announcement came this morning at the Routes Americas also being held in the city.

New routes that were announced from Indianapolis include St. Louis; Pittsburgh; and Nashville, Tenn. and will all begin on June 10, 2020. In addition to these routes, Contour also announced the opening of a focus city in the Indiana capital city.

The airline also cited that it plans on opening additional routes from the city in the future but have announced no firm plans.

The addition of these nonstop connections bring the airport up to 53 different destinations with ten airlines. New routes from the city will operate twice daily to both St. Louis and Nashville, Tenn. and once daily to Pittsburgh.

The new flights will be operated on the airline’s Embraer E135 and E145 aircraft that offer 36-in of legroom in every row which the carrier boasts is equivalent to first class on other domestic airlines.

In the words of Indianapolis mayor Joe Hogsett, “getting where you want to go has never been easier” as he refers to the numerous new destinations the city has acquired over the past couple of years.

Joe has always been interested in planes, for as long as he can remember. He grew up in Central New York during the early 2000s when US Airways Express turboprops ruled the skies. Being from a non-aviation family made it harder for him to be around planes and would only spend about three hours a month at the airport. He was so excited when he could drive by himself and the first thing he did with the license was get ice cream and go plane spotting for the entire day. When he has the time (and money) he likes to take spotting trips to any location worth a visit. He’s currently enrolled at Western Michigan University earning a degree in Aviation Management and Operations.
