Frontier Airlines has announced continued aggressive expansion plans as travel demand continues to pick up. Although travel is still down due to COVID-19 the airline has continuously expanded over the past eight months to new, leisure-based destinations. The airline’s latest announcement includes 18 new routes and three new destinations for the airline. These new routes include flights to a new destination in Mexico and an increased presence in the Caribbean.

The airline has stated that 19 new routes will be added. However, they include a route between Orlando and Ontario, Calif., on this list. Although the route is not currently operating, the airline has flown it before, as recently as June 2020.

The Denver-based airline’s flights between Orlando and Wilmington, Del. will mark a return to the nation’s smallest state for the first time since 2015. It will also mean Frontier will be the only carrier serving Delaware regularly.

The carrier will add flights from Cozumel, Mexico; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Oakland. The carrier has not previously served Oakland or St. Thomas. Frontier last served Cozumel in August 2015, at the time operating once-weekly services to Denver.
