JetSMART Peru Begins Operations

On Tuesday, JetSMART Peru’s inaugural flight took off from Jorge Chávez airport in Lima. The new airline’s first operation is to Arequipa with an Airbus A320neo registered as CC-AWJ.

Perú is the third subsidiary of the low-cost carrier JetSMART after Chile – its home base – and Argentina.

JetSMART will currently have two Airbus A320neo jets based in Perú. The company plans to progressively increase its aircraft in the country with launch of the next routes during the remainder of June, July and August.

Arequipa and Trujillo are Peruvian cities served by JetSMART Chile. The next additions will be locations that have never seen regular service from the airline.
