Editor’s Note: AirlineGeeks is proud to present our ‘Livery of the Week’ series. Every Friday, a team member will share an airline livery, which can be from the past, present, or even a special scheme. Some airline liveries are works of art. The complexity associated with painting around critical flight components and the added weight requires outside-the-box thinking from designers. The average airliner can cost upwards of $200,000 to repaint, creating a separate aircraft repainting industry as a result.

Emirates unveiled a special Airbus A380 livery to commemorate its partnership with the prestigious Wimbledon tennis championships. The airline became the official airline partner of the tournament in June 2024.
The unique livery features the iconic Wimbledon logo prominently displayed on the fuselage. The logo sits between two silhouettes of tennis players in action, symbolizing the spirit of the tournament. The words “Official Partner” are written in bold white lettering below the logo.
This special design adorned a single Emirates A380 aircraft throughout the Wimbledon Championships, which takes place from July 1 to July 14, 2024. The aircraft operated on scheduled services to various destinations.
The Wimbledon livery served as a visible symbol of Emirates’ support for the renowned tennis tournament and its commitment to connecting fans with this major sporting event.
