The airline is planning another route to Mexico from its Dallas/Fort Worth hub.
American is bolstering its Latin America network, adding another airport in Mexico to its route map next year. Starting on March 6, 2025, the carrier will begin flying to Tampico on Mexico’s Gulf Coast.
The city will be served from American’s Dallas/Fort Worth hub with daily flights. The 732-mile route will be operated by an Envoy Air Embraer E170 aircraft, per Cirium Diio schedule information.
Tampico International Airport currently sees service from a handful of Mexican carriers along with United offering flights to Houston. The airport sees roughly 600,000 passengers annually.
This is not the first time American has flown to Tampico. The airline last offered service on the same route in January 2009.
According to WFAA, Tampico will become American’s 29th destination in Mexico. Earlier this year, the carrier added service to Tulum and Tijuana.
