American plans to add a new Boeing 777-300ER route next summer. The carrier’s largest jet can seat up to 304 passengers and includes a Flagship First cabin with eight seats.
As first flagged by Ishrion Aviation on Twitter/X, the 777-300ER will operate daily flights from New York-JFK to Madrid. The aircraft is scheduled to serve the route between June 5 and Sept. 3.
This will be the first time the airline’s largest aircraft type is scheduled to serve the New York-Madrid route. Recently, American began flying the 777-300ER on daily flights from its Charlotte hub.
The aircraft will replace the Boeing 777-200, adding just over 30 more seats to the route per day. From New York, American’s 777-300ERs also fly to London Heathrow and Barcelona during some days in the summer.
