Royal Jordanian added its fifth nonstop destination in the U.S. this week.
The carrier on Sunday operated its first revenue flight between Amman, Jordan, and Dallas/Fort Worth. Flights will operate four times weekly going forward, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The Amman-Dallas connection was first announced in September.
Airline officials said the new route will improve connectivity between Jordan and North America, strengthen trade ties, and position the company to benefit from travel connected to the FIFA World Cup this summer. Dallas is one of 11 U.S. cities selected to host matches for the tournament.
In the U.S., Royal Jordanian also serves New York-JFK, Washington Dulles, Chicago O’Hare, and Detroit. Most of its route network is concentrated in the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa.
