Spanish discount airline Vueling will drop its connections to Wales later this year.
The carrier plans to suspend service between Cardiff and Malaga, Spain, on Oct. 22, and between Cardiff and Alicante, Spain, two days later, on Oct. 24.
Vueling said in a statement that it continuously reviews its network and makes changes to accommodate consumer demand and connectivity needs. The airline did not rule out returning to Cardiff and said it will “evaluate any opportunities that may arise in the future.”
Cardiff Airport said it is disappointed in Vueling’s decision but pointed out that Ryanair and British carrier TUI will continue to connect Cardiff and Alicante.
Vueling is part of International Airlines Group, a British-Spanish airline consortium that also includes British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia. It has served Cardiff since 2012.
