American Airlines is renumbering one of its flights to Nashville, Tennessee, to honor late country music star Dolly Parton.
American renumbered one of its Dallas/Fort Worth-to-Nashville flights “AA925,” a play on Parton’s hit song “9 to 5.”
In a statement to AirlineGeeks, an American spokesperson said, “American’s scheduling team puts their creative hats on to find flight numbers that are meaningful to travelers.”
Parton died Aug. 25 at the age of 80.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Nashville airport officials last week came out in favor of renaming the airport in honor of Parton.
