Key Takeaways:

Southwest is adding a new international connection from Kansas City.

In June 2027, the carrier will launch the only nonstop route between Kansas City and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Flights will operate once weekly, on Saturdays.

Officials with the Kansas City Aviation Department said the two cities have never had a nonstop connection.

Southwest serves over 30 domestic and international destinations from Kansas City. In the Caribbean, it offers service to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, as well as Cancún, Mexico.

The carrier recently announced a slew of new routes and flights for the summer of 2027, including from Austin, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee.
