Key Takeaways:

American Airlines on Monday launched air service between Chicago O’Hare and South Bend, Indiana, replacing a Landline motorcoach connection.

Flights between O’Hare and South Bend will operate three times daily, using regional aircraft.

American announced the switch to air service in August.

The carrier also ended Landline service between O’Hare and Rockford, Illinois, earlier this week. The connection is not being replaced with air service.

The termination of the Landline routes to South Bend and Rockford ends American’s collaboration with the ground transportation company at O’Hare. Their partnership at Philadelphia International Airport will continue however; Landline currently offers service between Philadelphia and Allentown/Bethlehem, Atlantic City, Trenton-Mercer, Wilmington, and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
