Key Takeaways:

Icelandair will launch a new nonstop route to the U.S. Midwest next spring.

Starting May 14, 2027, the carrier will connect Reykjavík and St. Louis. Flights will operate three to four times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, through Oct. 24.

Icelandair currently serves 15 destinations in the U.S., including New York-JFK, Washington Dulles, Chicago O’Hare, and Seattle. It also flies to Canada, Greenland, and Europe.

St. Louis will become a new gateway for Icelandair’s interline partnership with Southwest. The agreement allows travelers to book connecting Icelandair and Southwest flights with a single itinerary. The current Icelandair-Southwest gateways are Denver, Baltimore, Nashville, Tennessee, Orlando, Florida, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.

Icelandair also said it will resume service to Madrid in 2027. That connection will run two to three times per week during the summer.
