LATAM on Thursday took delivery of its first ever Embraer aircraft, the E195-E2, which the airline said will support expanded connectivity.
This is the first of 12 E195-E2s that are expected to be delivered to LATAM by the end of 2026. LATAM Airlines Group last year placed 24 firm orders for the type, with an additional 50 purchase options. The aircraft will be used by LATAM Brazil.
“We chose the E195-E2 with a clear objective: to continue expanding LATAM’s presence in Brazil sustainably. With the E2, we will connect new markets with strong demand and economic potential to our global network, allowing us to surpass the milestone of 70 airports served in Brazil as early as 2027,” Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil, said in a news release.

The E195-E2 will have a 2-2 seat configuration, offering Premium Economy and Economy, with 136 seats in total. The aircraft will have free Wi-Fi for registered LATAM Pass members, access to LATAM Play, the airline’s entertainment platform, and USB-C ports at every seat, the airline said.
Before the E2 enters service, LATAM will have to secure approval for its interior, complete the certification process with Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency, and clear customs procedures.
“It is rewarding to see the E195-E2 helping to connect new destinations and supporting the development of air transport in Brazil,” Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of Embraer, said in a news release.

LATAM said the aircraft will enter service between November of this year and March 2027.
As more aircraft are delivered, the first group of E2s will be deployed across 42 routes, including eight new connections and four new destinations. The new destinations are Macae, Cabo Frio, Rondonopolis, and Ji-Parana.
Avelo is the only U.S.-based carrier that has selected the E195-E2. Canada’s Porter Airlines currently operates the aircraft.
