Delta is planning to launch new nonstop service from San Antonio International Airport to Boston Logan International Airport, starting Nov. 11, 2024. The airline will offer daily, year-round flights on this route, with departures from Boston at 9:15 a.m. and from San Antonio at 2 p.m. local time.
In a press release, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenburg said, “Delta’s timely decision to serve this route demonstrates the strong demand between San Antonio and Boston and that it warrants nonstop service on a legacy carrier. SAT’s momentum continues to grow. And we’re delighted that Delta continues to expand its presence here.”
Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports for the City of San Antonio Aviation Department, also welcomed the news, adding, “This is fantastic news for San Antonians, especially our business travelers from our bioscience, technology and financial industries.”
The new route is slated to be operated by an Airbus A220 with 109 seats.
This is not the first time Boston-San Antonio has seen nonstop service. JetBlue currently serves the route but announced plans to pull out of the Texas city as part of a recent slew of network shake-ups. JetBlue’s service in the market will end in October.
San Antonio has seen several high-profile route additions in recent months. In May, the airport received its first-ever transatlantic flight on Condor. American also announced plans to fly from Washington’s Reagan National Airport to San Antonio pending Department of Transportation (DOT) approval.
