Aeromexico is expanding into the U.S. market again with a new route between Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Mexico City (MEX), according to Friday evening’s Cirum Diio schedule update. A Delta focus city, Raleigh has seen several new air service developments in the last year, including new airlines such as Air France, Lufthansa, and Icelandair.

Starting on July 1, 2024, Aeromexico’s new service will be daily operated by an Embraer E190 aircraft. Both Delta and Aeromexico are codeshare partners and members of the SkyTeam Alliance.

More U.S. Expansion

With a recent change in Mexico’s air safety rating, the country’s airlines are now permitted to add new service to the U.S. Several Mexican airlines – including Aeromexico and VivaAerobus – have jumped on the opportunity to grow their respective networks across the border.

Last month, Aeromexico firmed up plans to add service between several U.S. and Mexican cities, particularly from Delta’s hubs in Detroit and Atlanta. All of these routes are scheduled to begin in early to mid-2024.
