Cathay Pacific opened reservations for flights from Hong Kong to Barcelona last week, and the service will resume on June 17, 2024. The airline will operate the flight with its Airbus A350-900XWB. The aircraft is configured with 38 flatbed business seats, 28 premium economy seats, and 214 economy seats.
The Hong Kong-based carrier will operate three weekly flights through the summer season and will temporarily end service on October 26, 2024. The airline currently states that this is a seasonal operation.
The flight departs from Hong Kong at 12:25 a.m. local time on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. It arrives in Barcelona at 8:30 a.m. local time. The return flight departs from Barcelona at 1 p.m. local time and is scheduled to arrive in Hong Kong at 7:05 a.m. the next day.
Travel Rebounds from 2020
As seen earlier this year, Cathay Pacific has benefited from the rebound of Hong Kong’s travel demand after the lifting of travel restrictions. This enabled the carrier to bring back many destinations, including Barcelona, that it had cut during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. This move not only benefits Cathay Pacific but also strengthens the oneworld alliance, as fellow member Iberia utilizes Barcelona as a hub.
