Editor’s Note: AirlineGeeks is proud to present our ‘Livery of the Week’ series. Every Friday, a team member will share an airline livery, which can be from the past, present, or even a special scheme. Some airline liveries are works of art. The complexity associated with painting around critical flight components and the added weight requires outside-the-box thinking from designers. The average airliner can cost upwards of $200,000 to repaint, creating a separate aircraft repainting industry as a result.

Azerbaijan Airlines, the national flag carrier of Azerbaijan, has a distinctive livery that reflects the country’s rich history and culture. The airline’s branding is a blend of tradition and modernity, showcasing the country’s heritage while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic.

The primary color of Azerbaijan Airlines’ livery is a vibrant blue, symbolizing the Caspian Sea, which plays a significant role in the country’s geography and economy. The livery also includes a stylized light blue cheatline along the fuselage.
The 32-year-old airline has a fleet of over 30 aircraft. It currently serves 55 destinations around the globe, including the U.S. and Europe.
