After teasing the route last week on Instagram, Royal Jordanian has scheduled service to its fourth U.S. city. Currently, the Jordanian flag carrier serves New York-JFK, Chicago O’Hare, and Detroit.

Next year, the airline will add service to Washington Dulles. Flights from Amman, Jordan, will begin on March 23.

The new route is slated to operate twice per week on Tuesdays and Sundays with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The airline’s 787 aircraft feature 24 business class seats along with 246 in economy.

“Our upcoming first flight between the two capitals, Washington, D.C., and Amman, marks a significant milestone in RJ’s global expansion strategy, making this the fourth U.S. city we fly directly to,” said Royal Jordanian CEO Mr. Samer Majali in a news release. “By linking these two dynamic markets, we aim to stimulate tourism, trade and investment opportunities. This crucial connection provides seamless connectivity to the Gulf, Levant and North Africa, reinforcing our commitment to providing exceptional service and connecting people across the globe, aligning with RJ’s five-year expansion strategy.”

Royal Jordanian will compete directly with United, which also flies between the two cities. The airline discontinued the route in August though, citing safety concerns in the Middle East.
