Key Takeaways:

American is restoring more regional service from its Chicago O’Hare hub. Last month, the carrier scheduled the resumption of flights from Chicago to Boise, Idaho, along with Bismarck, North Dakota.

Now, the Fort Worth-based airline is slated to resume yet another route in 2025, also from Chicago. After a three-year pandemic-era pause, American will resume service between Chicago and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This 911-mile route was last served by the airline in 2021. According to Cirium Diio schedule data, flights will start on June 5, 2025, and operate daily.

Regional carrier SkyWest will operate the route on behalf of American with a 65-seat CRJ-700 aircraft.

American also serves Colorado Springs from its Dallas/Fort Worth hub. From Chicago, the carrier will compete directly with United, which serves the market on a twice-daily basis.
