Qatar Airways to Serve Colombia, Venezuela

The airline plans to connect Bogotá and Caracas.

Qatar Airways is expanding its network in the Americas with the introduction of direct flights to Bogotá, Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela, starting in early summer 2025. The service will connect Hamad International Airport in Doha to Bogotá El Dorado International Airport and continue on to Caracas Simon Bolivar International Airport, with the return leg from Caracas operating nonstop to Doha.

The new routes make Qatar Airways the first airline to offer direct flights from the Middle East to Colombia and the sole Middle Eastern carrier with flights to Venezuela. The addition of Bogotá and Caracas brings the airline’s total destinations in the Americas to 16.

The flights will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, aboard Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, which feature 42 business class seats and 234 economy seats.

“The launch of flights to Bogotá and Caracas marks a transformative moment for Qatar Airways and for travellers to South America. As the first airline to offer nonstop service from the Middle East to Colombia and the only Middle Eastern carrier flying to Venezuela, we are creating new opportunities to connect people, cultures, and commerce,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Badr Mohammed Al-Meer in a news release.

The addition of Bogotá and Caracas will also make this the airline’s second-longest flight to the Americas at over 8,000 miles. Last year, Emirates launched service between its Dubai hub and Bogotá via Miami.
