Alaska will serve one fewer country by the end of this year. The carrier confirmed Monday that it will no longer operate scheduled flights to the Bahamas.
In its latest schedule update, the Seattle-based airline axed a handful of routes, including flights between Washington Dulles and San Francisco along with Los Angeles. An airline spokesperson attributed this change to a lull in demand “potentially connected to economic uncertainty and a decrease in government-related travel.”

But the airline will also completely exit Nassau, Bahamas, in August. Alaska started service to Nassau in 2023.
The market was served from both Los Angeles and Seattle on a seasonal basis.
Service from Los Angeles to Nassau ends this summer, with the last flight operating on Aug. 17. The airline’s Seattle-to-Nassau route will not resume next season after it stops this month, the spokesperson added.
“For the past year and a half, we’ve tried a variety of strategies to make the route financially successful from both Seattle and LAX,” the spokesperson said.
At 2,886 miles, the airline’s Seattle-to-Nassau flight is one of its longest during the winter months.
