United will operate more nonstop flights to the South Pacific island of Tahiti next summer to accommodate high demand.
The carrier confirmed to AirlineGeeks that it will increase the number of flights between San Francisco and Papeete, Tahiti, from five per week to seven per week. The expanded schedule will be in effect from June 29 to Oct. 24.
All of United’s flights on the San Francisco-Tahiti route use the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
United is one of only two U.S. carriers that serve Faaʼa International Airport near Papeete, the other being Hawaiian Airlines.
