Key Takeaways:

The recently-merged Alaska and Hawaiian have started coordinating schedules in recent weeks. In its latest network shake-up, Alaska will deploy Hawaiian’s widebody aircraft on long-haul flights from its Seattle hub.

According to Ishrion Aviation, the first such service will be Seattle to Tokyo Narita, with Hawaiian operating the route on an Airbus A330-200. The daily service is slated to begin on May 12, 2025.

In addition, the airline will begin flights from Seattle to Seoul in October 2025.

While Alaska has shared plans to keep the two airlines’ brands separate, their fleets may be used interchangeably on some routes. Before the merger, Hawaiian’s long-haul operations were confined to its namesake state with flights to the U.S. Mainland, Asia, and Oceania.

Hawaiian also serves Tokyo Narita from Honolulu. Facing little backlash from regulators, Alaska completed its $1.9 billion purchase of Hawaiian in September.

Both airlines are in the process of co-locating at five airports. The company is slated to host an Investor Day event on Tuesday.
