One of the two pilots onboard the PSA Airlines flight that crashed near Reagan National Airport on Wednesday has been identified.

D.C. Fire Chief John Donnelly said Thursday that no survivors are expected after an American Eagle CRJ-700 and helicopter collided near Reagan National Airport.

One of the aircraft was an American Eagle CRJ-700 operated by PSA Airlines, while the other was a helicopter, according to the FAA.

Should a transaction be finalized, Frontier and Spirit would become the fifth-largest U.S. airline with plans to serve 100 million passengers per year. 

Last week, the airline and the Air Line Pilots Association inked a letter of agreement to formalize the voluntary early separations.

The Delta Airbus A350-900 that collided with a CRJ-900 in September returned to service last week after undergoing repairs.

Early reports indicate that the blaze started in the tail section of the aircraft. Photos on social media show substantial damage to the 18-year-old jet.

In 2025, United says it expects to take delivery of 71 narrowbody and 10 widebody aircraft, down from previous plans of 100 new jets this year.

The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline continues to face delivery delays on 787 Dreamliner aircraft, including its 787-9s with new Flagship Suites.

The airline will go head-to-head with American, Air Canada, and Delta, which connect LaGuardia and Toronto multiple times per day.
