Delta is gearing up to open a new crew base later this year. The Atlanta-based carrier announced plans for an additional flight attendant domicile this week.

Alaska Airlines is taking additional steps to support its growing long-haul network as it prepares for future international expansion.

Citing rising airport cost pressures, ultra-low-cost carrier Allegiant says it will end base operations at this airport, which began in 2009.

Among the hardest-hit bases will be Denver, which will see a reduction of around 155 pilots between April and May of this year.

In a memo this week, the airline told pilots that Boston was the first base outside its existing hubs opened in “quite a while.”

JetBlue announced plans to open a new crew base for both pilots and flight attendants in San Juan, Puerto Rico later this year.

The new base announcement comes just weeks after the carrier said it plans to close its domicile in Atlantic City, N.J. later this year.
