The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is moving to revise a regulation governing public charter operators, including JSX.

JSX is shaking up its route network in Texas. The so-called semi-private operator plans to add a new route from its Dallas base.

Facing potential regulatory headwinds, JSX’s CEO Alex Wilcox sees a future in small communities as other carriers pull out.

The carrier says it plans to use a new fleet of hybrid-electric aircraft to operate in underserved communities and reduce carbon emissions.

JSX’s relocation to Scottsdale Airport is part of the company’s evolving growth strategy, which includes moves away from larger airports.

This new airport for the carrier joins other Bay Area airports such as Oakland (OAK) and Concord (CCR) with service starting in February.

Dallas-based air carrier JSX has started moving out of some of the larger airports it serves, specifically in two of the cities it currently serves.
