The carrier is ending flights in a handful of “underperforming” markets, including one it has served for around 14 years.
Delta is expanding its network with two new nonstop routes launching in June 2026. This long-haul market hasn’t been served by the airline since 2018.
The addition of this new service brings the number of Delta’s long-haul routes from Salt Lake City to five, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Seoul.
Despite the reductions, American says it will continue to operate more than 60 daily flights to over 15 destinations in Europe this fall.
China Airlines orders Boeing 777X jets, including freighters, to boost long-haul capacity and efficiency on key global routes.
Delta also links Orlando and Amsterdam with seasonal long-haul flights, which are currently slated to resume in October 2025.
With more Boeing 787s slated for delivery in the coming months, the Fort Worth, Texas-based carrier will expand service on some routes.
Delta is slated to expand its reach into North Africa later this year. The carrier announced a new route from its Atlanta hub on Friday.
