According to a Star Tribune report on Wednesday, the airline said it is telling customers the money is a gesture that comes with “no strings attached and does not impact rights.”

Combined across all passengers, the money offered totals $2.28 million from the Atlanta-based carrier.

The CRJ-900 flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport crashed while attempting to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport. All 80 people aboard the non-fatal crash evacuated the jet, 21 of which were transported to local hospitals for injuries.

As of Wednesday morning, only one victim remains hospitalized. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is leading the investigation into the accident along with other agencies, including the National Transportation Safety Board.
