Air Canada will end service in four U.S. markets later this year. The network shake-up comes amid an ongoing lull in travel demand between the two countries.
In October, the airline will suspend flights between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Montreal, in addition to Indianapolis and Toronto. The last scheduled flight on these two routes will operate on Oct. 20.
Daily flights between Detroit and Montreal will end on Sept. 30, according to Cirium Diio schedule data.
Florida Cut
The Canadian flag carrier also plans to suspend service between Tampa, Florida, and Vancouver, British Columbia. The last flight in this market is scheduled to operate on Nov. 4.
A spokesperson from the airline did not respond to AirlineGeeks’ request for comment on the network changes.
In August, Air Canada’s transborder capacity will be down nearly 12% compared to the same period last year, as measured by Available Seat Miles.
