Key Takeaways:

JetBlue announced an expansion of operations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida on Wednesday, with plans for nonstop flights to four new destinations and increased service on five existing routes.

Starting this fall, the carrier will offer flights from Fort Lauderdale to Atlanta, Austin, Norfolk, Virginia, and Tampa, Florida. JetBlue previously served Atlanta and Austin from Fort Lauderdale, but never Norfolk or Tampa.

Increased Service

The airline is also putting one additional daily flight on existing routes from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and Richmond, Virginia, “to meet growing demand.”

“Fort Lauderdale has long been a key market for JetBlue, and we’re excited to keep growing with the region,” said Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president for network planning and airline partnerships.

Of the new routes, Fort Lauderdale-Austin will come online first, on Nov. 20, followed by service to Atlanta, Norfolk, and Tampa on Dec. 4.

The existing routes will have new flights added on Oct. 26, except for the Los Angeles service, which will expand from five times daily to six times daily on Nov. 21.

JetBlue also said its premium product Mint will be available on every flight between Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco this winter. Mint business class comes with lie-flat seats, expanded dining options, amenity kits, and other benefits.
