Hong Kong’s major airlines have moved about 80% of their aircraft out of the region as a powerful typhoon bears down on southern China.

Icelandic low-cost airline Play has abruptly shut down after roughly six years in business, it told customers on Monday.

Accidents like these typically fade out of the news cycle after a week or so, but the feelings will remain strong for the industry and the victims’ loved ones.
