Swiss International Air Lines this week unveiled a new premium product called the “First Grand Suite,” which combines two First Class suites into a self-contained “loft” space.

The Grand Suites consist of two parts – a Single Suite by a window, and a centrally located Suite Plus, linked by a private aisle. Both sections have lie-flat beds and privacy walls almost six feet high.

The combined room, which is secluded from the rest of the cabin, can function as a bedroom, office, or workspace for couples, families, or business travelers. It can accommodate up to three passengers and has many of the same amenities as SWISS First, including seat heating and cooling and an extra large screen.

SWISS said the Grand Suites will be installed on SWISS’ new Airbus A350s, refurbished A330s, and eventually Boeing 777s. They are expected to become available to book in 2026.

“With our new SWISS First Grand Suite, we’re further expanding our First Class service product with an option that is specifically aimed at those of our top premium customers who are seeking even more privacy and even more scope to design their personal space on board,” said SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach. “Our Grand Suite should give our guests all the feeling of having their own ‘loft aloft’ – a space that they can use as they wish, to relax, to work, or just to enjoy the experience.”

Grand Suites can only be booked by calling SWISS First’s concierge service.

SWISS is in the process of rolling out a new cabin design concept, known as SWISS Senses, which incorporates a dark red-gray-beige color scheme, lighting synced to passengers’ circadian rhythm, and entertainment systems with larger screens. The airline said the layout and design of its Grand Suites will conform to the SWISS Senses concept.
