A United Express flight was forced to turn back to Washington Dulles on Tuesday after the crew reported a warning of possible engine trouble.
Mesa Airlines Flight 6321 was en route to Savannah, Georgia, when the crew “reported a left engine fire indicator light,” according to the FAA. The flight turned around and landed back at Dulles around 10:15 a.m. local time.
The aircraft involved is an Embraer E175 regional jet.
No injuries to the passengers or crew were reported.
According to WJLA-TV, the passengers were switched to another airplane and departed Washington again about three hours later.
The FAA said it is investigating the incident.
