This airport will be the third major commercial airport in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area, behind DFW and Dallas Love Field.

Southwest has never involuntarily furloughed or laid off workers in its 53-year history, even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

An Airbus A320 will operate the route with up to 1,440 total seats per week. Avianca currently flies between Dallas/Fort Worth and San Salvador.
