Delta canceled over 150 flights on Thursday and Friday after dozens of its regional jets were taken out of service for inspections.
The agency found multiple engine component failures that led to engine vibrations, an emergency landing, and a post-landing fire.
Currently, the A350 operates a handful of routes from Seattle, including to Tokyo Haneda, Taipei, and Seoul Incheon, replacing the A330-900neo.
Despite the reductions, American says it will continue to operate more than 60 daily flights to over 15 destinations in Europe this fall.
The Chicago-based airline has a total of 50 A321XLR aircraft on order. Twelve are initially slated to join United’s fleet in 2026.
Unlike the airline’s other long-haul routes, this route will be operated by Alaska and not Hawaiian, the carrier said in a news release.
Delta is making some adjustments to its domestic network. This time, the airline plans to cut one of its long-standing routes from New York.
The two carriers formalized their partnership in January 2025, following an initial Memorandum of Understanding signed in September 2024.
Southwest is adding a new airline to its list of global partners. In September, the Dallas-based airline debuted a partnership with Icelandair.
