Key Takeaways:

Delta plans to resume service on two domestic routes next summer. In a statement, the Atlanta-based carrier shared that it hopes these flights will attract both leisure and business travelers.

Starting on June 8, 2025, the airline will add flights between its Salt Lake City hub and Fairbanks, Alaska. Delta already serves Fairbanks from Minneapolis/St. Paul and Seattle, with previous service from Salt Lake City ending in 2021.

The seasonal route will be operated by an Airbus A220-100 through Sept. 7. Recently, Fairbanks received $900,000 in federal funding to attract new air service.

Additional California Route

Beginning on July 7, 2025, Delta will relaunch flights from its Detroit hub to San Jose, California. According to Cirium Diio schedule data, the route was last served by Delta in 2020.

Flight times for the routes are as follows:

Route Dep. Time Arr. Time
DTW-SJC 19:55 21:51
SJC-DTW 23:00 6:30
FAI-SLC 0:55 7:50

Flights will operate through Nov. 30, 2025, on a Boeing 737-900ER aircraft. From San Jose, the carrier currently flies to Atlanta, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and Seattle.
