Delta has offered $30,000 to each one of the 76 passengers aboard Endeavor flight 4819 that crashed while landing in Toronto.
Delta flight 4819 is involved. The CRJ-900, which was operated by Delta regional subsidiary Endeavor Air, was flying from Minneapolis to Toronto.
The addition comes as the airline’s regional subsidiary, Endeavor Air, said it would open a crew base in the North Carolina city.
According to its latest annual regulatory filing, Delta expects to receive 43 new aircraft in 2025, all of which are from Airbus.
Later this year, Delta and Southwest will be left as the only two remaining airlines regularly serving the North Texas airport.
Initially, the new base will have between 130 and 170 total crew members assigned. The airline already has a maintenance base at the North Carolina airport.
The airline began service to Brisbane last month, which is a seasonal flight. Its Los Angeles to Sydney route is served year-round.
In 2025, United says it expects to take delivery of 71 narrowbody and 10 widebody aircraft, down from previous plans of 100 new jets this year.
The Atlanta-based carrier becomes the first U.S. airline to publicly announce plans to restart regular service following the October 2023 attacks.
