United is looking to add a new route between the U.S. and China even as many Western airlines scale back flights to the country.

The unscheduled landing over the weekend marks the second time one of the carrier’s flights diverted to Russia in less than four months.

Delta is bolstering its regional network next year, adding two more routes from New York’s LaGuardia Airport, one of which is new.
