Alaska Airlines is launching a new loyalty and rewards program that will take the place of Alaska’s existing Mileage Plan and Hawaiian’s HawaiianMiles.
In a news release, the carrier said current loyalty members will be enrolled in Atmos Rewards, which will allow passengers to earn and redeem points across the Alaska and Hawaiian networks. Starting in 2026, the program will allow customers to choose how they would like to earn points and elite-qualifying “status points” – in distance traveled, price paid, or segments flown.
For distance, the conversion is one point for every mile. By price, passengers earn five points for every $1 they spend on flights. Customers can earn a flat 500 points per flight segment, which could benefit those who take many short-distance trips.
Points can also be accrued by using the rideshare app Lyft, at two points for every $1 spent on everyday rides and three points for every $1 spent on trips to the airport and elevated Lyft rides.
The points can be redeemed on flights operated by Alaska, Hawaiian, and over 30 global partner airlines, as well as vacation and car rentals.
“Atmos Rewards is more than a loyalty program – it’s a reflection of how guests travel today,” said Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines, in a news release. “We listened to what our members value most and built a program that’s grounded in generosity, personalization, and practicality. We’re putting our members in the pilot’s seat, giving them control over how they earn and redeem, while honoring the legacy and values of both Alaska and Hawaiian.”
As of Wednesday, all Mileage Plan members are already enrolled in Atmos. They will keep their existing account numbers, and all Mileage Plan miles are now Atmos points.
HawaiianMiles members and all their miles will automatically transition into Atmos on Oct. 1. They will receive a new account number if they have not previously linked their HawaiianMiles account to a Mileage Plan account.
New Credit Card
Alaska is also rolling out an Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card, co-branded with Bank of America, that offers expanded benefits. These include free checked bags, preferred boarding, credits for delayed flights, waived flight change fees, lounge passes, three-times points on eligible dining and foreign purchases, and a rewards structure called the “Global Companion Award,” which covers a companion’s ticket when two people book on the same itinerary.
The Global Companion Reward includes milestone perks at 25,000 and 100,000 points.

Alaska Airlines Visa cards are being rebranded as Atmos Rewards Visa cards. The Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard will continue unchanged, and cardmembers do not need to take any action, Alaska said.
The start of Atmos Rewards marks another step forward in the integration of Alaska and Hawaiian, which completed a $1.9 billion merger last year. The two carriers are in the process of transitioning to a single operating certificate, which would officially combine their networks and operations.
